BRIANA'S CABANAS

Beach stays • travel finds • tropical escapes

Siesta Key & Vicinity

Let's skip the boring hotel lists. If you're here, your dates are probably picked, your PTO is handled, and now you're looking for the place.
The one with beach days that turn into sunset dinners, drinks with a view, sleeping in, and a week that somehow goes by way too fast.
These are the places that immediately had me thinking: yeah...this is exactly the vibe I'm looking for.
Fuck it, book it.

The Insider Picks

Okay, technically I'm starting with a plot twist 😭
If you searched Siesta and immediately noticed this first pick is on Lido...trust me for a second.
I've stayed all over this area and this is one of those places I would've missed if I stayed locked into searching Siesta only.Hot take: I actually like Lido better. Less crowded, prettier (don't come for me 😭), a shorter walk to the beach, South Lido Park has some of my favorite beach spots anywhere around here, and St. Armands is right there for food, drinks, wandering around, and accidentally turning a quick walk into your entire night.Plus? Siesta is still close enough if you want both.Cirque is one of those places that made me immediately think: yeah...this is exactly the vibe I'm looking for.

Cirque St. Armands Beachside

My "wait...why don't more people talk about this place?" pick.

Better beach (I said what I said 😭), less chaos, shorter walks, St. Armands for food + drinks, South Lido nearby, and somehow still feels like a little secret people miss because everyone tunnel-visions on Siesta.

☀️ Walk to beach without the marathon
🍹 St. Armands food + drinks right outside
🌴 South Lido = one of my favorite beach spots anywhere
🚗 Siesta close enough if you want both
✨ Gives "how is this place not talked about more?" energy

If Siesta was the plan but this suddenly became the tab you can't stop reopening...I get it 😭

Siesta Key Beachside Villas

My "cute little beach trip where everything's easy" pick.

This one feels different than Cirque.Cirque was my "wait...how are more people not talking about this?" place. This is more "I just want to wake up, grab coffee, throw sunscreen on, and be at the beach in five minutes without turning it into an Olympic event."It isn't flashy. It's not trying to be the luxury pick. It's just ridiculously well-located, couples love it, beach access is easy, and they already thought of all the annoying stuff people forget:☀️ Beach chairs included
🧊 Coolers + wagons provided
🏖️ Towels ready to go
🚶 Short walk to the beach
💕 Couples seem obsessed with it
And honestly? The wagon thing weirdly sold me 😂No hauling chairs. No carrying ten bags. No arguing over who forgot sunscreen.Just grab your stuff and go be on vacation.

Siesta by Day, Sarasota by Night

Siesta gets all the attention, but Sarasota is where the trip starts turning into a whole experience. Beach all day, then sunset walks, marina views, drinks, restaurants, and the kind of nights that somehow end with "okay wait...I love it here."If you've never been to this area before, here's the easiest way I can explain it: Siesta is the beach obsession everyone searches for first. Sarasota is everything wrapped around it that suddenly makes the whole trip hit different. You've got downtown Sarasota with rooftop bars, marina walks, and bay views. The Ringling Bridge with those ridiculously pretty water views. St. Armands for shopping, drinks, and those "let's just walk around for a little" nights that somehow turn into your whole evening. Then Lido and South Lido nearby if you want quieter beaches and a slightly different vibe. The best part? None of it feels disconnected. You can still do your Siesta beach days, then shower, head out, watch the sunset, grab dinner, wander around, and somehow end up feeling like you squeezed two vacations into one.Honestly? This is the part of the area that made me start understanding why people don't just visit...they keep coming back.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Sarasota

My "wait...I suddenly feel rich" pick.

I stayed here and immediately got it. I booked a pretty normal room and still had one of those "am I secretly doing better in life than I thought?" moments 😭The pool sits up above the city with bay views, downtown is right outside, and somehow this place makes doing absolutely nothing feel productive.Beach all day → shower → rooftop drinks → walk around downtown → accidentally stay out too late.✨ Elevated pool with bay views
🍹 Main-character energy
🚶 Walkable downtown Sarasota
🌅 Perfect bridge between Siesta + city nights

The Westin Sarasota

My "okay...this suddenly turned into a whole experience" pick.

This is where Siesta starts becoming more than beach days. Rooftop views, marina sunsets, downtown right outside, and one of those places that makes you want to shower, put on a real outfit, and accidentally stay out way later than planned. You come back from the beach thinking you're done for the day...and somehow end up watching the skyline with a drink in your hand.✨ Rooftop views that feel illegal
🍹 Walking distance to downtown
🌅 Sunset + bay energy everywhere
🚶 Beach all day, city at night

Art Ovation Hotel, Autograph Collection

My "we were only supposed to have one drink" pick.

This one feels different. Art everywhere, rooftop drinks, live music vibes, and one of those places where the night accidentally keeps extending itself.Beach all day, head back to shower, tell yourself you'll just walk around a little...and next thing you know you're watching the city lights wondering how Sarasota somehow pulled you in.This place has strong "okay...I get it now" energy.✨ Rooftop drinks + skyline views
🎶 Feels alive without feeling chaotic
🚶 Walkable downtown + marina area
🌙 Somehow turns quick outings into whole nights

The Ritz-Carlton

My "okay wait...THIS is the trip" pick.

Hear me out…this one changes the itinerary a little.Because technically you're staying downtown near the marina, rooftop drinks, restaurants, and all the Sarasota energy…but The Ritz quietly gives you both versions of the vacation. You get the downtown side: sunset walks along the bay, Marina Jack nearby, cocktails, city nights, and that whole "let's just wander and see where we end up" energy. Then when you're ready for a beach day? They shuttle guests over to their private beach club experience on nearby Lido Key — with loungers, umbrellas, towels, pool access, food, drinks, and the kind of service that immediately makes you sit up a little straighter and think: okay wait...I get it now.So somehow you end up with both:Beach vacation energy and Sarasota city energy without having to choose. And honestly? That's kind of the dream.✨ Private beach club + shuttle access
🌴 Downtown + beach in one trip
🧖 Spa + couples treatments
🍸 Multiple restaurants, bars & lounges
🌅 Marina views + sunset-night energy

Worth the Drive

Not everyone wants to spend every dollar staying directly on the beach. And honestly? Some of the places a little farther out ended up becoming some of my favorite stays.Once you get about 15–25 minutes outside Siesta, things start changing a little: bigger rooms, quieter nights, easier parking, pools, free breakfast, less chaos...and somehow your money suddenly stretches a lot further. If you're already planning beach days, dinner nights, St. Armands walks, and driving around Sarasota anyway...the extra few minutes really isn't a big deal. And a few of these? I genuinely loved enough that I'd stay there again without even thinking twice.Including one place that somehow ruined regular hotels for me a little.

Carlisle Inn

My "how is this not way more expensive?" pick.

Okay...I genuinely do not understand how this place exists.Because this hotel is sitting over here with basically perfect reviews, huge rooms, ridiculously clean spaces, free breakfast, fresh baked cookies every afternoon, a pool, kitchen options, laundry, and some of the quietest rooms I've ever stayed in......while charging prices that made me double check I wasn't missing something.Like seriously — this was one of those places where I kept waiting to find the catch. There wasn't one.Everything just felt easy here. Easy parking. Easy check-in. Easy to settle into. And if you grab one of the larger suites? Full kitchen and your own washer and dryer right in the room.Plus Der Dutchman is literally next door...which, if you know, you know 😭 Massive Amish comfort-food buffet energy.Yes, it's a little farther from Siesta and Lido.Would I care?Absolutely not. This is one of the very few places I've stayed where I immediately thought:yeah...I'd book this again without even looking anywhere else.✨ Huge rooms
🍪 Fresh baked cookies every afternoon
🥞 Free breakfast
🧺 Laundry + kitchen options
😴 Weirdly quiet in the best way
🥧 Der Dutchman next door

Comfort Suites Sarasota – Siesta Key

My "this place just made vacation easy" pick.

Okay...this one isn't trying to be some over-the-top luxury resort situation. This is one of those places that quietly ends up making your trip easier in all the best ways. You're right near I-75, which sounds boring until you realize it makes getting around ridiculously easy. Siesta, shopping, dinner plans, random last-minute stops...everything just feels simple. And somehow this place ended up having one of my favorite little unexpected spots: an outdoor sitting area by the pond and fountain where I've literally watched otters swimming around 😭Like...excuse me? Why are there adorable little emotional-support otters on my vacation? You're also close to the mall and Livingstons — which is honestly such a fun date-night switch-up if you want a break from beach days. Giant arcade energy, drinks, games, and a massive pool table room...way more fun than I expected.Plus free breakfast, pool time, bigger rooms, and easy vacation energy without beach-pricing.Not directly on Siesta? No.Would I stay here again?Absolutely.✨ Free breakfast
🦦 Possible surprise otter sightings
🏊 Pool + outdoor pond area
🎯 Close to Livingstons + shopping
🚗 Easy access to everything
☕ Relaxed, easy home-base energy

Okay...here's my take.If you want rooftop drinks and downtown energy? I already told you where I'm sending you.If you want luxury and "I suddenly feel rich" vacation energy? We covered that too.But if you're trying to save some money without accidentally ending up somewhere depressing? Carlisle is stupidly good and I'm still not over it.And honestly...that's kind of the whole point of this list. Not random rankings. Not "Top 10 Sarasota Hotels" written by someone who's never actually stayed there.Real places. Real opinions. Real "here's what I'd actually book."Now respectfully...Go book the trip 😂🌴
